David Nicholson CBE, NHS Chief Executive, participated in the meeting. David's role is to ensures that the Department provides strategic leadership for the NHS and social care.
Before taking on his current role, David was Chief Executive of NHS London. Prior to that he held Chief Executive roles at Birmingham and Black Country Strategic Health Authority (SHA), West Midlands South SHA and Shropshire and Staffordshire SHA.
His 25 year career in the NHS has also seen him hold roles as Director of Health and Social Care for the Midlands and East of England, Regional Director for Trent, and Chief Executive of Doncaster Royal Infirmary NHS Trust.
David was awarded a CBE in January 2004 for his services to the National Health Service.
